Terra, founded with a vision of providing life-saving benefits through access to safe water, traces its journey back to 1981 when Guatemalan pharmacist Dr. Fernando Mazariegos developed the first ceramic water filter. Over nearly four decades, this revolutionary technology has become a mainstream solution, with over 30 workshops globally addressing the needs of disaster victims, impoverished families, and urban households.
In 2020, Terra was launched after two years of studying and training with successful ceramic water filter companies. With 15 years of experience in global development, Terra recognizes the severe impacts of contaminated water on well-being in Indonesia. The long-term vision includes identifying ten locations in Indonesia with critical needs and empowering communities through training, financing, and business support to establish sustainable water filter companies, addressing economic, environmental, and social needs.
Terra's goal is to provide effective, sustainable, and cost-saving solutions to families without access to safe drinking water. Collaborating with Bali-based social enterprise Terra Water Indonesia, Terra has expanded its platform, SAB FARO COLLECTIVES, to support and market products from local sustainable vendors.
This commitment aims to enhance the impact on environmental conservation and community well-being, fostering a healthier planet for all.
